Club Announcement – Kevin Green

Steyning Town Community FC are delighted to announce Kevin Green as their new first team manager for the upcoming 2022/23 season. Green was previously the Montpellier Villa FC first team manager and is also Head Coach at The University of Sussex. He also works as a scout for a professional league club and has extensive management and coaching experience gained both at home, and abroad in Norway and Spain. Green replaces Gerry Murphy at the helm after he stepped down after six years.

Chairman Ian Nichols said of the appointment ” I am delighted to welcome Kevin to the team at STCFC and very much look forward to the next leg in this exciting journey His experience in the game is extensive and very broad, both as a player and a manager, and he has done a great job at both Montpellier Villa and Sussex University.  It is clear Kevin fully understands the clubs vision and ethos. I hope he will oversee the clubs push up the SCFL table and bring an exciting brand of football to The Shooting Field. He has a great track record in developing younger players, something we continue to be keen to do at Steyning, whilst also pushing at the right end of the league table. “

Kevin added on his appointment ““First and foremost I am delighted to be given the opportunity to join this fantastic football club. I feel the club is a perfect fit for myself and I’m grateful for the faith put into me by Ian and the committee. I had a great 5 years at Montpelier Villa and wish them all the best moving forward but for me, this is the right time for a new challenge. I recognise that I have big shoes to fill after the superb job Gerry has done in his tenure at the club. Steyning Town as a football club, has massive potential and I cannot wait to get started.”

Green is in the process of finalising his management and coaching team and the full details will be released in due course.

The club wishes Kevin all the best at the club and hope he enjoys his time here.

On behalf of Steyning Town Community FC Committee.
