How we arrived here and hope to stay…….

The 3G facility we have now is fantastic but this hasn’t happened by accident. Six years ago the club was close to administration with an unplayable pitch and an expiring lease.

Hard work by the then Committee secured a donation from the Wilson Memorial Trust which was was matched by an HSBC loan and personal guarantees by Committee members. We now have a state of the art 3G facility, 13 youth teams, three U18 teams, U21’s, two senior teams and a Vets team all playing on a pitch 52 weeks of the year whatever the  weather. No other team in our category can match this achievement.

The Wilson Memorial Trust donation  was granted on the basis that the facility benefited the wider community and that is why so many other clubs and societies share this facility with us. This is a very difficult balance – but it important to note that without this support we could not financially function as a club and this is what sustains the pitch for our players and children.

It also takes a massive commitment from volunteers and we are always looking for people to step up and assist – this could be for some decoration, litter clearing or manning the turnstiles.

It would be great to see increased support on match days, especially from children and parents, as this is the end of the chain, where kids who join the club today can aspire to be playing in the future.

Planning permission has just been granted for a new kitchen and this will mean a much improved match day experience and hopefully the return of chips and ketchup!!!

Please contact us if you would like to get involved – you can make a difference.

Steyning Town CFC thanks you for your continued support.
