Amazing FA Vase cup run over for Steyning Town

Bearsted   3   Steyning Town  2 (aet)

Wet and windy afternoon in Kent, but our travelling fans had plenty to cheer about despite Steyning losing 3-2 in extra-time. Steyning took the lead with an early goal from Connor Bull. Bearsted fought back with two goals and with just a minute on the clock looked to be heading into the next round. But the ‘never say die’ spirit from the Barrowmen saw Ryan Timms tap in the equaliser after ‘magic Mike’ hit the bar from a free-kick. If 90+ minutes wasn’t gruelling enough in these conditions, the game entered extra-time.

The Bears sealed victory in the 2nd half of extra-time with just four minutes to go. What a great run Steyning Town have had in the FA Vase this season. “Heartbreaking but we wish our hosts all the best in the next round. @SteyningTown”
