Daniel Fuller-Smith has resigned with immediate effect from all of his duties at Steyning Town CFC

By March 2, 2018Uncategorized

This includes his committee position and his duties as Welfare Officer and Club Secretary. Daniel also resigns as U18 County West manager.

Known as DFS, Daniel joined the club in 2012 from Ashington F.C. and his drive and enthusiasm were quickly appreciated by the club. Daniel was part of the major project to bring the two clubs, Steyning Town F.C. and Steyning Strikers, together which resulted in the club that we see today offering football to over 400 players.

In 2013 Daniel’s efforts were acknowledged when he won Sussex FA’s “Grassroots Volunteer of the Year” and also the “Safeguarding Star” award. The latter was in recognition of his efforts to bring the welfare and safeguarding priorities of the club up to, and beyond, the requirement.

In 2016 Daniel was again rewarded with Grassroots Volunteer of the Year as well as being instrumental in the club winning Sussex FA Community Club of the Year in 2016 and 2017.
Along with his colleague Dave Shepard, and other committee members, Daniel helped the club to achieve FA Charter Standard.

The success of the U18 teams bears testament to the effort that Daniel puts in to this voluntary work with the West side recently going out in the quarter final of the Sussex FA Youth Cup to Whitehawk F.C.

We would like to thank Daniel very much for his work with the club over the last six years and wish him the very best in his future endevours and will follow his progress with interest at the next club that he joins.
