A message from the Chairman – Ian Nichols

By August 3, 2017Uncategorized

As you were probably aware, I was voted in as the new Chairman at the recent AGM.

I wanted to introduce myself and update you on the progress that we have made at the Club in the last few weeks and months.

STCFC now have a new website up and running. This will evolve organically as detail is added, but already it provides some useful information. www.steyningtowncfc.co.uk

Work is almost finished on refurbishing the changing rooms. I would like to thank everyone who was involved in this project, as without them we would not completed this before the start of the season. A separate note will be sent acknowledging the kind contributions and help we have received.

I feel strongly that we should have a youth forum – with player representatives attending from U9’s through to U16’s. They would initially meet 3 or 4 times a year to air and discuss the views, concerns and ideas that might come from our Youth section. We would welcome willing Youth players and would request that parents speak to their children about this and indicate an interest.

Now that Junior registration has been completed, we have been busy signing players for our Senior section, as well as U18’s. We have been drawn away against Worthing Utd in the 1st Preliminary Round of the FA Cup on Saturday 5th August. We would like to get as many supporters to the ground as possible. There is free admission for 16 and below.

Steyning Town CFC are keen to engage the community in our news and plans for the coming season – so watch out for announcements via our email newsletter, Facebook page or twitter feed – all linked to our new website.

So here’s to a successful new season for all our teams!

If you have any suggestions or concerns that you would prefer to discuss personally with me then feel free to get in touch.
